A first-person action game set in a tower full of puzzles, traps and nightmarish enemies. Twisted Tower was developed by the indie studio Atmos Games, the creators of Neversong and Pinstripe.
Twisted Tower is an old-school, first-person action game focused on combat and solving environmental puzzles. It was developed by an indie studio Atmos Games, known for Pinstripe. The game is set in the titular tower full of traps and murderous toys. The developers were inspired by the BioShock series and Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
The year is 1922. Tiny is an eighteen-year old madly in love with Charlotte, a young lady engaged to the thuggish Preston. He dreams of being featured on Twisted Tower, a popular TV show and propose to his beloved on air. To his surprise, he ends up finding a ticket to the tower in a toy package.
Tiny will have an opportunity to win over Charlotte along with 10 million dollars, if only he reaches the top of the tower - while facing challenges prepared by the mysterious, insane Mr. Twister.
Twisted Tower tasks the player with climbing a tower of a psychopathic toymaker, overcoming macabre challenges. We'll face many different enemies, such as horrifying puppets, zombies and clowns. Combat is fast-paced, letting us chop the enemies with an axe or blow them away with firearms. Our weapons can be upgraded by spending money acquired throughout the game.
As we ascend the tower, we'll visit exquisite living rooms, horror sets and snowy, levitating islands. Each area looks and is explored differently - by wall running, using a grapple hook or climbing mobile staircases. Every floor includes environmental puzzles and traps.
The game was originally meant to be called Father, its gameplay resembling such series as Half-Life and Resident Evil. The plot was meant to tell the story of a father, travelling to Eden in search of his daughter. Although the plot has undergone massive changes, the gameplay of Twisted Tower retains lots from the original project.

Twisted Tower is the classic FPS you always wanted, with a charming horror theme park setting and some seriously ridiculous guns.

To put it bluntly, Twisted Tower isn’t anything special. I’ve played dozens of better, more original, and more distinctive boomer shooters. That doesn’t change the fact, however, that this is a very solid game that can be a lot of fun. The action is intense, dynamic, and has just the right amount of punch, and the story—despite its disappointing ending—is intriguing enough that you’ll follow it with genuine curiosity for most of the game. Twisted Tower may not go down in the history of the subgenre, but it certainly knows how to provide a few truly enjoyable hours of fun.
