FIA European Truck Racing Championship

FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a racing game in which players get drive great trucks. The game has a license from the titular organization and features a high level of realism. It was created and published by the well-known French company Bigben Interactive (publisher of the popular WRC racing series).

Mechanics

FIA European Truck Racing Championship is a classic racing game that stands out primarily because of the type of vehicle driven by the player. The developers have opted for realism, and the powerful five-tonne trucks require a much different approach than the fast Formula 1 vehicles, lightweight motorcycles, and racing cars.

The specification of given trucks is particularly visible when overtaking rivals or slowing down - the enormous weight requires appropriate approach and the use of a special manual brake cooling system that utilizes water players carry with them (each vehicle has two hundred liters of liquid that must be properly managed).

The races take place on closed circuits, with many places known from the real world, such as French Le Mans, Italian Misano, Belgian track Zolder, and Nürbürgring located in Germany. Every race involves 12 drivers who have to drive 45 kilometres.

Game modes

In FIA European Truck Racing Championship one can play alone or with others - either online or in a local multiplayer mode.

Technical aspects

FIA European Truck Racing Championship has attractive 3D visuals. The game is based on the KT Engine, designed specifically for racing games (also known from the WRC series, TT Isle of Man, and V-Rally). The setting is realistic. Vehicles and tracks are very detailed and faithfully reproduce their counterpards known from the real world. Various types of effects (e.g. rain, sunshine) are also pleasant to watch.
