Go-Go Town! Release Date

Go-Go Town! is a combination of a city builder economic strategy and a simulation game. It was developed by Prideful Sloth, also responsible for games such as Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles and Grow: Song of the Evertree.

Plot

Go-Go Town! is set in the titular town. It used to attract hordes of tourists, but now its streets are empty. The playable character is the town's new mayor. As you can probably guess, our task is to restore it to its former glory and make it an appealing tourist attraction once more. Thankfully we're not alone, as the older residents of Go-Go Town are willing to give us valuable advice.

Mechanics

The gameplay of Go-Go Town! is shown from the top-down perspective. The player is responsible for all of the town's inner workings. Initially, we must do everything alone - clean, construct new buildings and renovate already existing ones with tools such as chainsaws, drills and leaf blowers.

After cleaning up the town and drawing tourists back, we can proceed to more ambitious tasks such as managing resources and planning out tourist attractions, such as restaurants, souvenir stores and dance clubs. All these places need workers, so we must also hire vendors, couriers and resource providers, such as miners, fishermen, farmers and lumberjacks. In order to make the town thrive, we must eventually start researching new technologies, such as terraforming, as well as construct larger buildings, such as museums.

Successful work will eventually bring back the town's former glory, making it a tourist destination once again. Some tourists may even decide to move to Go-Go Town, contributing to its development.

Game modes

Go-Go Town! is playable in singleplayer and co-op. The latter option is available locally and online.

Technical aspects

Go-Go Town! makes use of a colorful, cartoonish artstyle.
