inZOI is a life simulator and a potential competitor to such games as The Sims and Paralives. It was developed by the South Korean company KRAFTON.

Mechanics

inZOI makes use of various different camera angles; usually top-down, but we can zoom and lower the camera whenever we want to. We start the game by creating a character; we can determine their gender, appearance and personality traits. Afterwards, we choose the city we'd like them to live in (we can choose from various countries all over the world, ranging from Asia to North America), then choose a house or an apartment.

Since a newly purchased home is unlikely to fully meet our needs right away, we'll need to furnish and decorate it to our liking. We can choose some pre-made furniture or assemble it ourselves from available elements. The game also lets us enter a "prompt" into it, which then generates textures based on the prompt and lets us cover our walls and floors with them. We can modify the rooms layout, place windows, doors and expand the building if we so wish.

Once we have a home, we can start living our virtual life. As in other such games, our characters must work everyday in the career path chosen by us and meet their everyday needs, cooking, eating, exercising, cleaning up and being hygienic. The player can automate certain aspects of the characters' lives, making them visit specific locations according to our set schedule.

Relationships with other characters also play an important role. Our protagonist can make friends and attend parties or make enemies and take part in fights. They can also find love and have children. Being a parent is a major responsibility though; our character will need to spend lots of time with their kids and get up early in the morning every day.

Technical aspects

inZOI features realistic high-quality visuals. The character models are very detailed, while the surroundings are all realistically lit. Visually, the game stands out compared to other life sims.
