God Eater Resurrection is an action game for PC, PS4 and PSV developed by Japanese Shift studio. It is an enhanced version of Gods Eater Burst, which was released in 2011 for PlayStation Portable console.

Plot

God Eater Resurrection is set in year 2071, in which humanity faced extinction after powerful monsters appeared on Earth, which are called Aragami. Conventional arsenal is ineffective against them, so a new type of weapon has been created using monsters’ cells – God Arc.

The game tells a story of a teenager who joins Fenrir – the organization that exterminates Aragami. He starts as a complete novice, but quickly gains experience, gets promoted and finally becomes the leader of his own team. He will also meet many other members of Fenrir during his journey and play a key role in changing the flow of war against the monsters.

God Eater: Resurrection is a very fun hunting game, though it's not perfect. It's great that there is another alternative to the Monster Hunter formula available to us, though. Between this, and Koei Tecmo's rising Toukiden franchise, it's proving to be a really good period for this little genre.

Cubed3: 7 / 10 by Drew Hurley

The God Eater franchise is massive in Japan and it's easy to see why. Those looking for a more dynamic and story-driven hunting game may very well find exactly what they are looking for right here with Bandai Namco's God Eater: Resurrection. The flaws associated with its aged original release are more than made up for by the ground-up overhaul. This is without a doubt a fantastic and fun hunting series that hopefully spawns a lot more releases further into the future.

DualShockers: 7 / 10 by Kenneth Richardson

God Eater Resurrection is a fun action RPG with a dark atmosphere and story. You’ll also find very deep customization options, fast combat, and a wonderful multiplayer experience. The characters are likable, even if held back by the omission of the original voices. There’s a lot to discover and complete in the game; completing the story mode alone will take upwards of 40 hours and there are scores of additional missions. However, without playmates the game loses a lot of flair and devolves into a harshly repetitive and far less effective romp with one guy, a huge enemy with tons of health and a few sidekicks to revive you if you get knocked out. There is still fun to be had alone, simply not nearly as much.
