Gods Eater Burst for PSP is a dynamic action game with adventure and RPG features, inspired by popularity of Monster Hunter series. It is a work of Bandai Namco’s team.
Gods Eater Burst starts with the world brought to ruin by appearance of giant beasts known as Aragami. They are so powerful that they seem like gods to most people, hence the title of those few warriors that fight them – Gods Eaters. Those heroes hunt monstrosities using mysterious weapons known as Jinki or God Arcs. Players start as a novice God Eater, but their character will play crucial role in changing the course of the war.
The adventure with Gods Eater Burst for PSP begins with creation of our hero, with options of changing elements like hairstyle, face, skin color, costume and voice. Then our character joins three similar companions and sets on the hunt for over 35 different species of Aragami that live in game’s world. The gameplay is purely arcade, so whether we win or lose against giant beasts depends mainly on our reaction time. As we progress through the game, we will be finding special items that modify our weapons and ammunition, strengthen our shields or increase power and endurance of our character.
Each weapon has four different forms during hunt: blade, gun, shield and predator, between which we can freely switch. The last one transforms our weapon into giant beast, letting it devour defeated monsters.
Gods Eater Burst presents us with a complex campaign consisting of over 100 missions. Additionally, three companions who travel with us can either be controlled by artificial intelligence or other players, letting us hunt for Aragami in cooperation with friends.
Gods Eater Burst for PSP is a new version of original Gods Eater released in Japan. It offers improved visuals and fixed technical issues present in original game.
Game score 7.9 / 10 calculated out of 35 players' votes.
