Handball 21 is another installment of the well-known series of sports games dedicated to a handball. The game was created thanks to the efforts of EKO Software studio, also known for its How to Survive action adventure series. The publisher is Nacon / Bigben Interactive.
Handball 21 is not very different from previous releases. The gameplay focuses on the rivalry of the athletes on the pitch and not the aspects related to the role of the team manager. In the game we can find licensed teams and as many as 1600 players known from prestigious European handball leagues (mainly first and sometimes second - among others Lidl Starligue, Proligue, Asobal League, DKB Handball Bundesliga and 2. Handball Bundesliga).
The developers have improved some aspects of gameplay - the game allows players to be more tactical in their games. The rivals' artificial intelligence was also improved.
We can play Handball 21 alone or with others. The game offers a variety of gameplay modes - we can play a single match, a full league season or play an extensive career mode. Multiplayer mode offers the opportunity to compete with other players over the Internet or locally on a shared screen.
Handball 21 has a pleasant, three-dimensional graphic design. The graphics try to present the struggles of the athletes in a realistic way - this can be seen both in the appearance of the halls where the meetings are held and in the models of individual players. This is not a leading quality (e.g. the animations are sometimes a bit stiff), but the game competently captures the atmosphere of a football match, which is most important in such a game.
