A tower defence strategy embedded in the reality of sci-fi. The aim of the game is to defend the base against alien attacks. To this end, we build fortifications and build further defensive towers. The action takes place on three planets, Hephaestus, Poseidon and Ares, and we oppose nine types of opponents.
Real-time strategy included in tower defence games. We defend the main base from the hordes of aliens raiding, building further defensive towers and providing them with energy supply.
The action of the game takes place in the future. With the technological development people began to explore the planets in search of valuable raw materials. During one of these expeditions they met a foreign race that offered them peace. However, the colonizers came to the conclusion that they did not want to share the potential profit from the minerals trade and therefore decided to start a war with aliens. As a result, the player's task is to defend the base from the approaching alien hordes. We observe the game in isometric projection.
Unlike most tower defense titles, in Harvest: Massive Encounter, economics plays an important role. In order to construct laser and rocket turrets and other defensive buildings, we must have loans, and these are obtained by building mines of valuable raw materials. In addition, for our defensive infrastructure to work at all, we need to ensure that there are enough power stations and an adequate supply of energy.
During the campaign we will visit three worlds: Hephaesthus, Poseidon and Ares. Each of them is characterised by a different appearance of the environment, as well as the types of enemies that inhabit it. The creators have prepared a total of nine aliens that we will have to deal with: from hovercraft to tanks and reconnaissance vehicles.
In the basic gameplay mode we try to survive as long as possible. In addition, the creators have prepared four additional types of fun: Rush, Wave, Challenge and Creative. For example, they deal 50,000 damage in the shortest possible time. Within the framework of the last of them, we can expand the base in peace and decide for ourselves the moment of the enemy's invasion. Thanks to online statistics we can compare the results and achievements with other players.
In terms of graphic design Oxeye studio game looks poor. Two-dimensional maps resemble the level of productions from the 90s. All units and buildings are very small, which makes it possible to present clashes on a huge scale compared to other tower defense games.
