A horror-style first person perspective adventure game (FPP). The player takes on the role of a hero who is given the opportunity to consciously immerse himself in the world of sleep in order to discover many terrifying secrets. The title was produced by independent studio ParanormalDev in cooperation with MadMan Theory Games.
Haunted Memories is the debut work of ParanormalDev studio in Wroclaw. The source of inspiration for the creators was the adventure game Slender: The Eight Pages, and the plot contains references to the famous prototype.
The Haunted Memories action is set in a mysterious world of dreamy memories. The player takes on the role of Jacek, who delves into a world detached from reality, trying to get to know fragments from the past, present and future and discover the truth about what is hidden beyond the revealed.
The game is aimed at exploring and building the atmosphere of danger resulting from staying in unknown places and contact with things escaping rational understanding. The game combines elements of adventure and action games in the atmosphere of survival-horror. Challenges for the player include location search, puzzle solving and fight against enemies.
The game is distinguished by an aesthetically pleasing three-dimensional graphic design. Events are presented from the perspective of the first person, and the atmosphere of the uncanny virtual world is intensified by skillful use of chiaroscuro. The soundtrack of Haunted Memories contains works from Frühstück's discography.
Attention: the game was released in the form of six episodes, which focus on adventure and action elements alternately. First part - Haunted Memories: Haunt is offered for free. A fee must be paid for access to the rest (Welcome Home, Lonely Twins, Understanding the Past, Trying to Cheat Darkness and Saved Fool).
