High on Life 2 is a sequel to the wildly humorous sci-fi FPS from 2022, titled High on Life. The game was developed by the creators of the original, namely Squanch Games studio.
In High on Life 2 we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The adventure leads us through various locations, such as a galactic convention, a zoo full of aliens, or a futuristic liner for the wealthiest inhabitants of the universe. While exploring them and accomplishing the missions set before us, we primarily focus on eliminating hordes of enemies.
The game once again provides us with guns that are essentially alien and quite talkative forms of life. Among them, we will find both old acquaintances, like Kenny's pistol, Gus's shotgun, or Creature's grenade launcher, as well as completely new ones. They include a flamethrower, a peculiar nail gun, a pair of revolvers in love, as well as a bow.
The novelties do not end there, as the developers also equipped the protagonist with a skateboard. The new acquisition significantly increased his speed and mobility, allowing him to move around locations in a style worthy of Tony Hawk himself.
The action of High on Life 2 takes place after the events depicted in the first part of the series. The incidental hero managed to curb the ambitions of the intergalactic cartel, but the idyll did not last long. The mysterious guest from the past has returned and set a reward for the sister of our protagonist, once again plunging his life into chaos. As if that wasn't enough, along the way our "hero" stumbles upon the trail of another conspiracy that could wipe out the entire human race.

Game Ratings for High on Life 2 Video Game.
GamesCreed: 4 / 5 by Maisie Scott
High on Life 2 is a rare type of sequel because it improves on the first game instead of just adding to it. It gets rid of unnecessary cynicism, makes the story stronger, and adds important gameplay changes while keeping the series’ signature silly humor. It’s not perfect because of some technical problems and sometimes weak combat, but the creative missions, characters, and world design make it stand out in the world of shooters today. More than anything else, High on Life 2 feels like a company finding its voice again and proving who it is.
Dexerto: 4 / 5 by Nathan Warby
High on Life 2 is everything you could want from a sequel to the first High on Life. It’s bigger, better, and funnier, finally delivering on what the original promised – a fantastic, over-the-top FPS where the jokes are as sharp as your knife. New companions like Sheath and Travis prove that the talking guns shtick that worked so well the first time was no fluke, and they constantly leave you in stitches and your enemies needing them. If you can give in to the weirdness, this is a goofy shooter that’s genuinely hilarious and a hell of a lot of fun to play. With smoother skateboarding and more varied boss battles, it would be perfection, but there’s a lot of life left in this emergent series – we wouldn’t say no to a threequel.
Push Square: 7 / 10 by Echo Apsey
High on Life 2 is a great sequel that sticks to its guns and refines the best parts of the first game. The skateboard-shooting concept works excellently, elevating the gunplay and creating a more engaging and enjoyable moment-to-moment experience. But all of this is ruined by incredibly poor visual fidelity on PS5 and PS5 Pro that distracts from the release's overall artistic achievements.
