Kind Words from independent studio Popcannibal is not a traditional game. It cannot be easily classified into any genre, but it is closest to being a simulation. In Kind Words, however, the player does not take on the role of any character, but is supposed to be himself/herself. Accompanied by relaxing music, we can write anonymously about our problems, hoping to get some advice or even a good word. Of course, we also have the opportunity to advise and support others.
Each of us has some problems that have their roots in work, school or personal life, Kind Words enable us to lift the burden from our hearts through anonymous confessions. The game is about mutual support. The user publishes his or her concerns and receives advice or encouragement in response.
Writing to others is not imposed in any way. Players receive several letters to choose from and decide for themselves whether they want to answer them or not. Thanks to this we can be sure that the people were not "forced" to do anything, but had the desire, or specific reasons, to send a message to us.
Kind Words is a multiplayer game.
Waiting for the messages to come is made more pleasant by the relaxing lo-fi music, which is characterized by a lack of technical processing - any imperfections, such as background sounds, are preserved in it.
The visuals are modest but pleasant - delicate pastel colors do not burden the eyes and look aesthetically pleasing.
In Kind Words we can't write everything. For fear of malice, the game blocks some words commonly considered vulgar. Texts containing such phrases must be manually accepted by the creators.
