La Divina Commedia is an action RPG with hack'n'slash gameplay, based on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. This brutal game was produced by the independent Italian studio Jyamma Games, the creators of Enotria: The Last Song.
We play as a warrior-poet, crossing the circles of hell, each of which corresponds to a different kind of sin. Exploring constantly changing labyrinths leads to both loot and secrets, as well as dangers.
In order to increase our chances of survival, we can collect crafting materials. There are procedurally generated dungeons and we engage in brutal battles with demons, making use of weapons and armor that are built from scratch and configurable in terms of statistics and aesthetics.
In La Divina Commedia each class of weapons corresponds to a different gameplay mechanic. The high-risk, high-reward feature adds variety.
When dark forces undermine the promises contained in the poem, order collapses, and the world plunges into chaos. In La Divina Commedia we take on the role of a warrior-poet trapped in the hellish depths, summoned to descend through the circles of hell, confront increasingly powerful demons, and atone for a sinful past.
The animations in La Divina Commedia were created using a motion capture system developed in collaboration with a studio that has Phantom Blade Zero to its credit.
