Legends of Aethereus is a cooperative and entertaining multiplayer arcade RPG game. The creators of the title, the Swedish ThreeGates studio, refer to the classics of hack'n'slash games, cutting themselves off from the simplifications that are becoming more and more common in modern games.
Planet Aethereus is an ancient and mysterious world, full of majestic forests, foggy swamps, deep caves and ancient ruins. Destroyed by three cosmic cataclysms, it slowly rises from chaos. Legends say that there are seven mysterious relics that will give unlimited power to the daredevil who can find them. No wonder that our hero, a resident of a city-state called Nexus, considered the last bastion of freedom and hope for the planet, decides to set out in search of legendary artifacts. On his way will be controlled by shamans from Ghalii hordes of the Khagal tribes, and the forces of the Venatan Empire, commanded by the ruthless General Zhorgal.
Entering the world of Legends of Aethereus we choose one of the classes available in the game, such as inventor, astrograph, officer or animist. Each character has his or her own wide range of skills. For example, an officer can create unique hand-to-hand combat strategies, use special attacks and defensive techniques, and mobilize the team with the help of warm-up anthems. In contrast, the inventor focuses on various types of explosives, self-adhesive bombs, defensive towers, missiles, etc. The game can be played in cooperation mode, joining teams of up to 4 players, as well as on their own - the creators have not forgotten about the amateurs of independent exploration.
Authors give players the opportunity to beautify and customize their city with special tools such as City Painter, Statue Maker or Banner Creator. According to the latest trends, the game has implemented an advanced craftsmanship system, allowing to create endless combinations of weapons and armour. In multiplayer mode we also get the so-called Combat Arena, where we can invite our friends and fight in one of the many PvE or PvP modes. This allows us to develop our hero's skills, as well as unlock special abilities, new weapons, traps, etc.
The game offers detailed, three-dimensional graphics from the perspective of a third person - characteristic of modern role-playing games - as well as a physically well-developed combat system, allowing for full control of our character's actions. It is worth noting that Legends of Aethereus was created on the Unity 3D engine, allowing PC and Mac owners to play cross-platform games freely.
