A roguelite extraction game, serving as the third installment in the series, published by GungHo Online Entertainment. In Let it Die: Inferno, we delve into an underground abyss, gathering loot and engaging in fights.
In 2016, GungHo Online Entertainment published a game titled Let it Die. It was a roguelite action production set on a post-apocalyptic Earth, created by Grasshopper Manufacture. In 2022, the second game under this brand was released, titled Deathverse: Let it Die. It was focused on player competition and was developed by the Japanese studio Supertrick Games.
The servers of the latter were shut down after less than a year, and its creators began working on a third title, composed of key elements from its two predecessors. This led to the creation of Let it Die: Inferno described here, which is an extraction roguelite game.
In Let it Die: Inferno the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP).
During the game we take on the role of the so-called Raiders. Its main feature consists of expeditions into the abyss, where a city-sized hole has formed on the Earth's surface. The main goal that guides us is to collect a substance called SPLithium, because if we do not obtain the minimum amount, evacuation will not be possible.
During the exploration of the underground, we must constantly stay alert, as we must face monsters known as Yuckies, warriors sent by the Yotsuyama Group, as well as our fellow adventurers. The latter may not be positively inclined towards us, as our loot can be a tempting prize for them. To make matters worse, the number of escape pods (which are the only means of evacuation) is limited.
All of this makes fighting opponents a daily occurrence. The battles are dynamic, and we make use of a wide range of melee weapons. The game allows us to wield one weapon in each hand and freely switch between them or use them simultaneously.
As we progress, we gather better equipment and gradually develop our character. Complementing all of this is a crafting system that allows for the creation of new items. We lose everything we had with us when we die. We are also stripped of most abilities. The exception are master skills, which are unlocked permanently.
Our base of operations is Iron Perch, an aerial complex located at an altitude of 9 kilometers. We find ourselves here between expeditions, preparing for the next journeys and meeting colorful characters such as a weeping receptionist in mourning, a one-armed woman, or a mysterious masked veteran.
Let it Die: Inferno transports us to a post-apocalyptic world. The planet has begun to recover from a cataclysm known as Earth Rage. A new threat has emerged in the form of a gigantic chasm that swallowed an entire city. Rumors quickly spread that in the abyss beyond the rift lies the Eye of the Reaper. It is a supply of the precious substance SPLithium and it is so vast that whoever lays hands on it will effectively gain control over the world. This rumor has attracted numerous adventurers known as Raiders. The site has also caught the attention of a greedy megacorporation called the Yotsuyama Group.
Let it Die: Inferno is designed exclusively for multiplayer gameplay. In addition to the standard gameplay variant, there is a competitive mode called Death Jamboree waiting to be explored.
The subsequent seasons not only introduce new content but also reset the game world, which means all our progress is lost. The exception is the stock of virtual currency called Death Metal, as well as items purchased with it and most bonuses included in specific editions (such as cosmetic items and body types). They always remain untouched.
