Light Fall is the title of the debut game developed by independent Canadian studio Bishop Games. The production is a two-dimensional platform game developed for PC, SWITCH and etc..
In Light Fall for PC, SWITCH and etc. the player is taken to a fantasy realm called Numbra, where the dark had won the battle with the light and an eternal night started. The player assumes the role of a mysterious boy. The player is tasked not only with revealing the mysterious past of the protagonist, but with saving the citizens of Numbra from incoming danger as well. Stryx, an old owl introduces the player into various plots of the story. Depending on his mood, Stryx can either give advice or laugh at player’s failures.
In Light Fall the action is presented by using a side perspective. The gameplay focuses on traveling through varied locations, like the calm Lunar Plain, dark Marshlands of Sorrow, exotic Vipera’s Forest and the Unknown Depths. The areas are filled with traps and obstacles like countless chasms. Luckily, the protagonist can do more than just run and jump – he is equipped with Shadow Core, a tool that enables him to create rectangle blocks. This can be used for creating additional platforms (the protagonist can use them to bounce and get further in the air) and neutralizing traps. It is worth mentioning that sometimes there is more than only one path leading to the destination. Exploring various areas is rewarded with finding chests with collectibles and various Easter eggs.
In additional to regular gameplay mode, the PC, SWITCH and etc. version of Light Fall features a Speedrun Game Mode with higher difficulty level. The results from this mode can be shared on Internet scoreboards.
The two-dimensional graphics of Light Fall are interesting due to the unusual style – the game features toned colors and the dark parts of the first plane are in contrast with light backgrounds. All of that is supplemented with unique, climatic music.

Game Ratings for Light Fall Video Game.
Nintendo Life: 8 / 10 by Gonçalo Lopes
Light Fall swiftly finds a spot among all the other Switch hardcore 2D platforming greats by offering not only a quality game wrapped in a beautifully unique atmosphere, but by successfully providing the player with a plot and characters that are worth investing, making the game very hard to set aside until you complete the tiny shadow-being quest. We found very little to complain about the whole package and as such have very little reserve in recommending you add yet another fantastic platform adventure to the growing list of titles already available on Switch.
GameGrin: 7 / 10 by Matt Wilhelm
Overall Light Fall is a nice addition to the platforming genre, with some unique environments, unfortunately it falls short when it comes to difficulty. Adding the ability to create platforms at will seems like a good idea on paper, however it falls short when it allows you to skip large sections of the map with ease.
Shacknews: 6 / 10 by Ozzie Mejia
Light Fall shows potential with its central premise and its core mechanic, but short levels, a run-of-the-mill story, and an all-too-brief campaign make it feel like there's some unrealized potential here.
