A special version of the Lineage II MMORPG. Lineage 2: Essence is offered as a free-to-play a game. It's focused on PvP gameplay and contains features making the gameplay easier, like being able to gather XP much quicker or having good gear at the start of the adventure.
In 2004, the company NCSoft released its MMORPG titled Lineage II. Over the years, it has seen new content and successors. Lineage II: Essence described here also saw the light of day. It is a special version of the game, simplified in some ways and focused on PvP gameplay. Similar to the original, it is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
Lineage II: Essence takes us to the fantasy universe created for the original, divided into three main areas: Aden, Elmore and Gracia. We follow the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game we play as characters we have created ourselves, representing different races and classes. Among the first ones, we will find humans, elves and dark elves, dwarves, orcs, and the winged kamael. The class we choose determines the style of combat, preferred weapons, and combat skills of our character.
We engage in exploring the land, finishing quests, and also fighting opponents. As we progress, we develop characters and gather increasingly better equipment.
Compared to the original game, Lineage II: Essence stands out mainly due to a greater emphasis on PvP gameplay. There is also an option to create guilds and join existing ones. In addition, castle sieges are waiting to be checked.
This version differs from the original due to faster character development by gathering XP and advancing to higher levels, stronger equipment at the start of the adventure (and easier acquisition of new items) or the presence of a bot for automatic "leveling". In addition to this, monsters regenerate faster, and many quests have been simplified.
Lineage II can only be played in multiplayer mode over the Internet.
