Little Dragons Cafe is a genre-blending game, with RPG, adventure, and farming simulation elements. It was developed by Aksys Games and Toybox Games, supervised by Yasuhiro Wada, the creator of the popoular Harvest Moon series.

Plot

Little Dragons Cafe follows the story of two siblings, whose mother went into a coma. As a mysterious old man told them, to save their mother, they have to raise a dragon. The siblings immediately get to work, at the same time trying to run the family business (the eponymous cafe) as good as they can and help the people of their village with their problems.

Mechanics

The game utilizes a third person's perspective. The most important element of the gameplay is caring for the dragon, which has to be fed and raised, so it can grow stronger, gradually unleashing its full potential. Moreover, you collect recipes for tastier food for your cafe's customers. You prepare the food using natural ingredients, which can be found in the in-game fantasy world, fish caught in the river, and plants grown in your own field. The whole cooking process has been rendered as a simple minigame. Apart from that, you talk to NPCs and complete quests for them, not only to lift their spirits, but also to increase the siblings' popularity in the village (which also increases the number of customers).

Technical aspects

Little Dragons Cafe features unique 3D visuals, resembling pictures drawn and colored with colored pencils. The idyllic atmosphere is also strengthened by the catchy soundtrack.
