Big Distraction is an independent development studio, founded by tw?rc?who have previously worked on Fortnite and Rocket League, among other games. For their debut venture, the authors chose an action game with roguelite elements, which they titled LORT.

Gameplay

In LORT, we view events from a third-person perspective (TPP). The production allows us to take part in raids, in which we complete the tasks set before us, eliminate hosts of opponents, and collect loot, gradually developing characters. Before starting the game, we make a number of decisions, based on which the program selects the map, enemies and mission objectives.

The main cons of the game

  • Better Scaling Options: There is a call for improved scaling based on player count to make solo play more viable.
  • Enhanced Loot System: Players desire more diverse and impactful loot options, similar to other roguelikes, where item synergies play a significant role in gameplay.

  • Improved UI and Quality of Life: Suggestions for better UI elements, clearer item descriptions, and a more intuitive interface have been made to enhance the user experience.

Summary

  • Overall, while "LORT" has received praise for its fun co-op gameplay and unique mechanics, it faces criticism for balancing issues, difficulty spikes, and a lack of variety that could enhance the overall experience. Players are hopeful for future updates to address these concerns.
