A tactical action game set in a distant future. Humanity has taken control of cosmic space and came across an unfriendly and unfriendly race. The army, of which the player is a part, has to get down to work and kick the ass to whom it is necessary.
First person shooter
Lost Legion is a squad orientated first person perspective shooter set in the year 2563 on a planet in the Beta Lyrae system. For the most part, the action takes place outdoors on the desert like planet although several missions will take the player underground into tunnels and caverns composed of rocky surfaces and eventually alien organic substances.
Sci-fi realism
The game will place great emphasis on realism (if a sci-fi game can be described as realistic), when attacked by the alien creatures; the player (and his team mates) will die very easily indeed beneath their claws. However even the smallest alien creature is still very tough and the only advantage the humans have is ranged weaponry. This places great importance on planning as the player can not afford to be surprised by unexpected enemies.
Squad based
The player (as commander of the squad) will be expected to issue orders during the game to the troops under his command (typically 5 to 10 men and women). This will be accomplished in a similar manner to the GUI system as used by Unreal Tournament, with a hot key activating a cascading menu of orders which can be applied to all or some of the troops. A map screen will also be available where the player can place waypoints for the troops to follow.
Destroy Aliens
The player will be issued with several different mission objectives during the game, ranging from reconnaissance (photographing the aliens) to rescue missions, search and destroy, capturing and holding a position and capturing aliens for study. Due to the often overwhelming odds the player and his team will face, these missions will often rely on planning and stealth. The player's ultimate goal is the destruction of the alien threat.
