Lost Records: Bloom & Rage stars four friends, reuniting after 27 years to face a secret they've been hiding all this time. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a narrative adventure game. It was developed by Don't Nod studio - specialists of this genre. We're talking about a team that has such productions as Life is Strange, Tell Me Why, Twin Mirror, or Harmony: The Fall of Reverie in their portfolio. The game was divided into two episodes - Bloom (Tape 1) and Rage (Tape 2).
Lost Records: Bloom & Rage takes us to the fictional town of Velvet Cove, located in a picturesque corner of the American state of Michigan. The story told here begins in the summer of 1995, when the main character - 16-year-old Swann - meets her three best friends: Nora, Autumn, and Kat.
After a holiday full of experiences, the girls part ways, having made a kind of pact of silence due to the dramatic events they experienced. 27 years later, the protagonists meet again when a mysterious package reminds them of a secret from their youth. Their further fate is in our hands and largely depends on the choices we make.
In Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, we watch the events alternately from the third and first person perspective. The game takes place both in 1995 and 27 years later. We make decisions that shape reality not only in the present, but also in the past (and also on both temporal planes simultaneously).
As we get to know the next elements of the main plot, we gradually discover what happened years ago and why Swann and her friends decided to meet again and face the past.
The story is pushed by conversations between Swann and other girls. Each of them has an individual personality and their own problems they have to face. How our relationships with individual friends unfold depends on the choices we make.
The camera also constitutes an important element of the game. Although Swann can use it for fun, immortalizing people and nature, it is also an essential tool that allows her to uncover the secrets of Velvet Cove and push the plot forward. Lost Records: Bloom & Rage also features some simple exploration sequences and logical puzzles.

But the game's utter sincerity is a major point in its favor, and these kinds of missteps are a side effect. If I have to put up with some deeply goofy choices in order to get a character as heartbreakingly earnest as Swann Holloway, I'll accept the trade-off.
