Matchpoint: Tennis Championships

Matchpoint: Tennis Championships is a realistic tennis simulator developed by Australian studio Torus Games. The game was published by Kalypso Media, the company responsible for such titles as Port Royale 4 and Tropico 6. In the game we can meet with the real stars of the sport on the court (such as Daniil Medvedev, Kei Nishikori or Garbine Muguruza), as well as use professional equipment from famous brands such as Babolat, Yonex or HEAD.

Game mechanics

We start the game by creating our player - apart from appearance and clothing, we can also set such details as left- and right-handedness or two- or one-handed backhand.

In career mode we climb the rankings, taking part in fictional tournaments around the world. During a match, apart from our skills, it is also important to choose the right technique: flat hit, lob or slide. The gameplay is enhanced by realistic and dynamic physics that allows you to control the rotation, speed and curve of the ball, as well as ensuring the smoothness of the player's movement, which makes every match unique.

We can improve our skills, such as strength, agility or backhand, alongside a hired coach or with the help of mini-games. It also helps to gain an advantage by learning the opponents' style and the courts, whose surface (grass, earth or hard ground) strongly affects the dynamics of the match. The matches can be recorded, watched and analyzed to refine tactics.

Game modes

In Matchpoint: Tennis Championships we can play solo or against another player in a split-screen or online match. There is also a career mode, where we compete against artificial intelligence. T
