MegaRace is the first installment of a series of action games combining elements of arcade races and rail shooter shooting. (target sight). The development team of Cry Interactive is responsible for production.

The action of the game was set in the distant future. Virtual World Broadcast Television broadcasts an extremely popular show - MegaRace. Its participants race on the track. Their task, however, is not to reach the finish line in the shortest possible time, but to destroy dangerous gangs.

The player plays the role of the driver of a futuristic combat car. His goal is to eliminate all gang members in three race laps. The hero can use a total of 8 models of vehicles (initially only 3 are available), as well as various types of weaponry. In order to destroy an opponent, one needs to smash his vehicle against a gang, take care of him or shoot him down. During the struggle, various elements appear on the route that make it easier or more difficult to complete the task.

Driving a car in the game is very limited in character. The player can accelerate or slow down and move from one side of the track to the other, but it is not possible to stop or turn around. The creators of MegaRace have prepared a total of 14 routes marked out in five worlds, plus two bonus levels.

The quality of the visual setting does not differ from the standards in games from the first half of the 90s of the XX century. Noteworthy is more than 20 minutes of footage with the show's host Lance Boyle (played by actor Christian Erickson). The soundtrack is the work of Stéphane Picq, the author of the music for Dune.
