Release Date: March 29, 2016
Another installment in the popular baseball simulator series developed by Sony Computer Entertainment San Diego – the creators of the previous parts of the games. The key elements of the game remain almost unchanged. The developer’s main objective was to recreate the true baseball experience as faithfully as possible.
MLB: The Show 16 for PS3 and PS4 is yet another instalment of the MLB: The Show series that aims at recreating the experience of professional baseball players from the Major Baseball League. SCE San Diego Studio, known for the previous parts of the game, is the developer of the title.
The main objective of MLB: The Show 16 for PS3 and PS4 is very similar to that of the 2015’s instalment. The game of course introduces improvements and novelties, including ShowTime, which is a kind of bullet-time that slows down time and allows for striking and catching the ball more accurately and spectacularly. The Road To The Show mode is also improved (PS4 only) and due to the renovated player training system you can unlock a wide range of perks useful during the games.
MLB: The Show 16 was released in three editions. Apart from the regular one, there is the MVP Edition including: a metal box, 5,000 Stubs, 1 Sponsor Pack, 10 Standard Packs, 31 PS4 MLB Themed Avatars, and 1 Opening Day Pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition offers 11,000 Stubs, 1 Sponsor Pack, 20 Standard Packs, 31 PS4 MLB Themed Avatars, and 3 Opening Day Packs.
It is worth mentioning that the cover features Josh Donaldson from Toronto Blue Jays.

Game Ratings for MLB: The Show 16 Video Game.
Examiner: 4 / 5 by Joe McCallister
MLB The Show 16 could've been a disappointment, just another entry with an updated roster. Fortunately Sony San Diego brought improvements, innovations, and some (potentially) fun experiments to the table. The Show remains the only real player in the baseball simulation realm, and while unfortunate for Xbox owners, and the only choice for PS4 players, it would fare well against any competition that were out there.
GamesRadar+: 4.5 / 5 by Ben Wilson
PS4's biggest sports exclusive delivers a moonshot home run, thanks to perfectly balanced fundamentals, astonishingly lifelike presentation, and little details that few rivals – past or present – have come close to getting right.
Destructoid: 7.5 / 10 by Steven Hansen
[T]he baseball itself is as good as ever, and one of the better modes, Road to the Show, is far less clunky this time around.
