A first-person shooter with soulslike elements, inspired by games such as Doom, Ultrakill, and Half-Life. In Moros Protocol we explore procedurally generated locations of the futuristic ship named Morpheus. We can play alone or in co-op, facing hordes of hellish monsters.
The independent Greek studio Pixel Reign started its operations with small-scale projects, namely Neonverse and Robbie Swifthand and the Orb of Mysteries. Their third project ended up being a bigger undertaking. We're talking about a boomer shooter enriched with roguelike elements, titled Moros Protocol. The sources of inspiration for the developers included games such as Doom, Ultrakill, and Half-Life.
In Moros Protocol we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP).
During the game, we take on the role of a character trapped on the wreck of the futuristic ship Morpheus, which has been overrun by monstrous creatures. In order to survive, we must face the hellish hordes. Our enemies include powerful bosses, and while designing confrontations with them, the developers were inspired by soulslike type productions.
We explore procedurally generated levels and mainly engage in combat. On the battlefield, we make use of a wide range of firearms, which includes pistols, machine guns, or shotguns. In addition to this, we can use elements of the environment, such as exploding barrels. However, when everything else fails, we can deliver a brutal kick to the opponent.
As we progress, we acquire various improvements that allow us to develop and adapt the accumulated arsenal to individual needs and preferences. Skillful use of the possibilities offered by the game is important because after death we start from the beginning, traversing altered locations and facing new challenges.
Moros Protocol can be enjoyed alone or in online coop.
The graphic design of Moros Protocol combines a retro style full of large pixels with modern visual effects, led by dynamic lighting.
