Dorfromantik is a peaceful strategy game in which the gameplay consists of laying out the terrain with colorful blocks. The title was developed and published by Toukana Interactive. This is the first project of this developer.
Dorfromantik is a casual strategy with elements of a puzzle game, in which we deal with building a picturesque village - we arrange the landscape from various hexagons. The game was developed and published by the independent studio Toukana Interactive and is the debut project of this developer.
In Sky Haven the action is observed from above (top-down view). The basic rules of the game are somewhat reminiscent of what we know from the board game Carcassonne (it also has a digital edition - Carcassonne: Tiles & Tactics). The player arranges successive, randomly generated pieces of a coloured board (they represent both terrain and other things - such as creatures or objects), trying to create as interesting a landscape as possible - a village and the surrounding lands.
However, that's not all, as some of the pieces offer additional tasks - e.g. they require arranging a certain combination of other blocks. For example, a deer wants to be surrounded by a forest, while a locomotive requires a certain number of pieces with tracks. By completing these quests we unlock access to more elements, terrain types and tasks.
We receive points for all our achievements and every block we placed. The game ends when we run out of puzzle elements.
In Dorfromantik we can only play alone. The core of the game is the single player mode.
Dorfromantik features a simple, 3D graphic design, which stands out with its interesting artistic style - the game world resembles a colourful model or a board.

Call it cosy, call it chill, but Dorfromantik is something truly special. It’s a game that is able to be both challenging and relaxing. It does the latter through beautiful visuals and a sublime soundtrack, but builds the challenge with a bit of depth and strategy. And also to resist the temptation to just keep playing until the real-life birdsong starts outside your window…

Overall, Dorfromantik lives up to its billing as an incredibly relaxing game. It’s the perfect game to play while on a train or just lounging around the house. It takes seconds to pick up, and can easily provide seemingly limitless hours of gameplay. If you are in the market for a chill, calming game, you can’t go wrong with Dorfromantik.
