My Winter Car is the second part of a series of survival and simulation games, in which we renovate old sports cars. As the title suggests, this time the action takes place in winter, which affects the graphics and gameplay.
My Winter Car Description
My Winter Car is the second installment of the series of original survival and simulation games, initiated in 2016 by the My Summer Car project. The game was developed by Amistech Games and, like its predecessor, it allows us to take on the role of a car enthusiast who decided to renovate his old sports car. This time, however, the action takes place in winter, some time after the events presented in the first part of the series.
Mechanics
In My Winter Car the action was shown from a first person perspective (FPP). We get the same open world, which we visited in the first part, but there are some changes, including not only winter surroundings, but also additional buildings. Our main objective is to restore an old car (a 1970 Ford Taunus, called Corris Rivett due to the lack of license), but we can also freely roam the map and devote ourselves to other activities. This is even advisable, because by doing various activities, such as helping other residents of the area, we gain money, which we can then use to buy new parts for the car.
Like any survival game, the presented world is not as safe a place as it seems. Suffice it to say that even low temperatures can be lethal for our protégé (so we have to constantly monitor his body temperature and choose appropriate clothing for the conditions), and death is permanent here (we have to start the game from the beginning after death). Winter is also associated with snow and ice, which can be used in various ways; nothing stands in the way of teasing the inhabitants and throwing snowballs at them, and on the frozen lake you can go crazy behind the wheel of a car (although you need to watch out for places where the ice is thinner, so that it does not collapse under the weight of the car).
When it comes to renovating our old car - just like before, this process is extremely complex and requires a careful selection of parts (we can purchase new or used, as well as recycled ones), for which we need the right screws and tools. As it is winter in the world of games, it is worth taking care in advance of efficient ventilation and heating of the rear window, because in such conditions it is not difficult to freeze or evaporate the windows. Once we bring the car to a usable state, we should go to the diagnostic station for a check-up, before we start driving on local roads.
Technical aspects
Like its predecessor, My Winter Car runs on Unity technology. The graphic setting of this production is therefore simple, although clear and quite pleasing to the eye. The driving model is once again supervised by an advanced physics engine.
