Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for X360 is another game developed by the famous, Montreal-based studio belonging to Ubisoft Entertainment and most notably recognized for games from the Assassin's Creed or Splinter Cell series. This time, the talented creators decided to develop an action game based on a popular anime series Naruto.

Plot

The plot in Naruto: Rise of a Ninja for X360 makes references to the original anime series obviously. Naruto Uzumaki is the protagonist here and this hyperactive teenage ninja still seeks acclaim among other fighters. He wishes to become hokage, who is the strongest ninja in the village, the leader. Since the story here contains fantasy elements, the protagonist will have to face numerous demons in order to achieve his goal.

Mechanics

Gameplay as such here brings the latest installments in the Grand Theft Auto series into mind, or similarly, such clones as Saints Row or Crackdown. The difference lies in the setting, for instead of American streets, the player is taken to a Japanese village; as for the protagonist, they are neither criminal nor an agent gifted with superpowers - the player assumes the role of a vigorous teenager. The protagonist traverses the game world in search for missions to complete. In the meantime, the player talks to other characters and engages into fights. Significantly, the player was given a lot of freedom as it comes to exploration and the experience is non-linear.

Technical aspects

The game offers cel-shaded graphics, which makes it look cartoonish and even closer to the original animated series in terms of the visuals. The player encounters numerous places and characters the fans of said series are familiar with. When it comes to the soundtrack present, it makes use of musical themes from the Naruto anime series as well.
