National Geographic Challenge!, released on PS3, Wii and X360, is the second after Nat Geo Quiz: Wild Life joint project of Gusto Games studio and National Geographic Society. The developers again decided to test the knowledge and logical thinking skills of the players, this time, giving the participants a much bigger field to show off.

Mechanics

The creators took care of a large thematic diversity of the puzzles. The game's database contains over 4,000 questions related to history, geography and nature. Most of the tasks require the use of knowledge, which can be obtained by watching popular science shows broadcasted on the National Geographic television channel. The game is enriched by puzzles in the form of uncomplicated mini-games.

Game modes

The game offers five gameplay modes - single and multiplayer quiz, puzzle challenge, classic puzzles and the most complex explorer mode. The latter was designed for a multiplayer game involving up to four people. Players answer questions and solve various tasks competing for territories around the world. The winner is the one who wins the largest area of the globe.

Technical aspects

National Geographic Challenge! is characterized by an aesthetic, although simplified graphics. Each player participating in the game is represented by an avatar, whose appearance can be styled as an adventurer, traveler or researcher. The game features over an hour of high-quality video materials as well as hundreds of photos of real places, architectural objects, people, plants and animals, which appear during the questions etc.
