Network Q RAC Rally Championship Description
The continuation of the game Network Q Rally Rally, released in 1993 by Europress, is one of the most popular and highest rated rally games in history. The authors managed to select the best elements from previous editions of the series, complementing them with a modern luminaire. Thanks to this, the most extensive of the racing simulations released so far on the PC gets into the hands of the players.
The Network Q RAC Rally Championship gives us the opportunity to take part in the UK Rally, one of the most prestigious qualifiers of the World Rally Championship. The game reproduces all 28 special episodes that belonged to the series in the 1995 season. Six licensed cars with detailed technical data are at our disposal: Subaru Impreza Turbo, Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Renault Maxi Megane, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Skoda Felicia and Proton Wira. In addition to the choice of tyres, we can also tinker with such elements as suspension height and stiffness, gear shifting, steering and braking sensitivity.
Rally competitions can be carried out by observing the route in one of three different camera shots. The routes are reproduced with great care, although all of them are set in the gloomy, rainy realities of Great Britain. The driving model has improved significantly and parts of the car such as the gearbox, engine, clutch, body, radiator, suspension, headlights and electrician are damaged. Of course, defects affect the parameters of our car, so we have to take care of their repair during the breaks between races, if the time allocated to the mechanics allows us to do so.
Network Q RAC Rally Championship offers us four different modes of fun. In addition to the basic championship mode, we can compete in arcade mode (on 5 different difficulty levels), time trial and individual. In addition, we can race in LAN with up to 8 people at the same time. The course of the rally can be tracked and analyzed thanks to an advanced repetition system.
The game's graphics make the most of its modern graphics cards. Dynamically changing weather conditions give players the opportunity to compete at different times of the day in rain, snow and fog. Owners of weaker machines to improve the smoothness of animation can, however, reduce the game window or the resolution of the graphics. High quality sound reproduces the real sounds of the engines of individual cars, and while driving our actions is supervised by a pilot sitting next to us. As one of the first computer games, the Network Q RAC Rally Championship uses not only the keyboard and joystick, but also the steering wheel. For all those interested in the rally theme, the game is accompanied by a detailed history of the UK Rally.
