An adventure game with an isometric view, designed to show all of the unique features of the second generation of the hybrid console from Nintendo. Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is a paid product and we discover the hardware's unique functionalities by participating in various mini-games and demonstrations.
Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is an adventure game, developed for the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. It was developed by Nintendo and it presents the capabilities and features of the titular console.
In Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour we watch events in an isometric view. During the game, we become a participant in a virtual exhibition, who step by step delves into the technicalities of the Nintendo Switch 2 console, interacting with its gigantic replicas.
Thanks to this, the player and the character controlled by him have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the capabilities of the titular device. We are talking about the functions of specific buttons or options for using Joy-Con as a mouse.
The game also gives us the opportunity to look "under the hood" of the Nintendo Switch 2. Thanks to this, we can check what is hidden under its casing without disassembling the console. This is a chance to learn about many technical details, such as the magnetic system of attaching controllers to the console or the principles of operation of the haptic vibration system.
A series of skill-based mini-games (such as Speed Golf) were implemented. There are various technical demonstrations, as well as other forms, such as quizzes, through which the Japanese manufacturer showcases its work in the best possible light, drawing attention to its unique features.
Most of the graphic elements of the game were presented in 2D and maintained in a cartoon style.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was full of surprises, one of which was that Welcome Tour would be paid, not pack-in. Now we know the expected cost.

Switch 2 is almost here, and I think we can all agree it’s definitely worth the hype. But some of Nintendo’s recent decisions? Not so much.

Game Ratings for Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Video Game.
TheSixthAxis: 6 / 10 by Dominic Leighton
After a day of playing Mario Kart World and Fast Fusion, Welcome Tour was a light, engaging way to wind down from high speed thrills. While it could arguably be a free pack-in exhibit, the L8 asking price is low enough that you shouldn't feel too hard done by for the curious. If you want a undemanding and easily digested introduction to the way the Switch 2 works, then look no further. If you want an actual game, buy one of the other launch titles.
Final Weapon: 2 / 5 by Noah Hunter
Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour is packed with practically everything you would ever need to know about the ins and outs of the Nintendo Switch 2. The tech demos are a fun novelty, but they don’t go beyond that — a novelty. The minigames aren’t great, and the quizzes get old quickly, leading to a repetitive experience that is hard to recommend to anyone outside of die-hard Nintendo fans or tech enthusiasts.
SmashPad: 3 / 5
For all the enjoyment and cool information you can get playing this game for two hours, it’s absolutely worth more than the $10 you’ll pay at Starbucks or any fast food joint for whatever you want there. Should it have been a pack-in, especially after Nintendo “took the $30 hit” with the Mario Kart World bundle? Yes, probably, but after spending considerable time with it, I wouldn’t criticize anybody for spending $10 on Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour at all.
