Pax Dei is an MMORPG with a strong emphasis on social features. It's the first game of the debuting studio Mainframe Industries. Its creative director is Reynir Hardarson, known for his work on EVE Online.

Plot

Pax Dei takes place in a low-fantasy medieval-like world. The setting is home to many supernatural beings, such as ghosts. It's also filled with dungeons hiding valuable treasures and secrets from the world's past.

The game doesn't have a storyline. All quests and tasks we undertake are given to us by other players.

Mechanics

Pax Dei is an MMORPG entirely devoid of NPCs. The game is based solely on players and their interactions with each other. The players can choose exactly what they want to do, whether it's living a quiet life, acquiring resources and crafting items or exploring the world in search of adventure.

The game is supposed to be initially devoid of any settlements. The players must find suitable places and construct necessary buildings by themselves. We must also, obviously, make settlements appealing to draw in players who could provide basic services.

Combat is another of the game's major features. There are many dangerous creatures dwelling out in the game's world. We must also keep in mind not every player we encounter will be friendly.

Game modes

Pax Dei is only available in multiplayer.

Technical aspects

Pax Dei runs on Unreal Engine 5.
