Although Rage for PC, X360 and PS3 is not a traditional representative of the FPS genre, shooting from the first-person view is definitely its most important element. Rage combines mechanics typical for shooters created by id Software with racing on the surface of the Earth ruined as the effect of a collision with an asteroid. The post-apocalyptic atmosphere makes references to a classic action film Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. As it was the case in the film (starring Mel Gibson), an adequately modified vehicle is both the pillar of existence and the main way of transportation. During the adventure, which lasts approximately ten hours, the player can obtain four vehicles in total - those differ in performance and the number of weapon slots available.

Plot

According to the creators, in Rage for PC, X360 and PS3, the protagonist was inspired by the character of Buck Rogers (a comic strip hero). The main character comes from the Ark - one of special shelters which allowed carefully selected humans to survive the cataclysm. Forced to abandon the shelter, the protagonist soon makes allies among survivors trying to exist in this new, dangerous reality. Mutants, bandits and the military regime known as the Authority are the main enemies of the protagonist, who willy-nilly, begins the fight for better future.
