Nearly 20 years after the debut of Myst, the authors of the original game decided to celebrate the anniversary of its release - based on a three-dimensional version of the game, prepared in 2000, known as realMYST. Independent studio Cyan, adjusted its hit to the requirements and capabilities of modern computers, at the same time enriching it with a whole range of new elements.

The game takes place in the somewhat surreal world of an island called Myst, to which the protagonist of the story is transferred through a mysterious book written by the legendary researcher and writer Atrus. It turns out that it is also possible to move between different times. In this way, as we travel through the next four centuries, our hero learns about the history of the island and its inhabitants. Depending on the player's actions, Myst can be completed in many ways, and the greatest mystery of the island is helped by the additional, fifth era called the Rime Age, which has already been introduced in the game realMYST.
