Red Faction Collection

Red Faction Collection is a package of three versions of the Red Faction series. The set includes Red Faction Guerrilla (released in 2009), Red Faction: Armageddon (released in 2011) and Red Faction Battlegrounds (released in 2011). The set includes additional content, which was released in the form of DLC. It is worth mentioning that the American edition of the package also includes Red Faction and Red Faction II.

Red Faction Guerrilla takes us to the planet Mars. The story takes place fifty years after the events told in the first Red Faction. We play the role of an adventurer who openly rebels against the oppression of the Earth Defense Force, thereby handing down a death sentence on himself. As a brave individual and a member of the resistance movement, we are waging a kind of uphill war here. Our tasks include accurate planning of attacks and quick decision making. What's more, we are often forced to use elements of the environment in order to hide from attacks or remain unnoticed. This enhances the ubiquitous effect of honor. In Guerrilla we observe the right action from the third person's perspective, from behind our hero's back. During the game we visit a huge, open world located within a foreign planet. Among other things, we find ourselves in an abandoned mining facility and the headquarters of the Earth Defense Force.

Red Faction: Armageddon starts several decades after the events presented in Red Faction: Guerrilla. A mysterious sect led by Hale leads to the destruction of the Martian terraformer, as a result of which the population is forced to descend deep underground. The real fun begins a little later, showing Darius Mason (grandson of the hero of the previous installment of the cycle) exploring some ancient ruins. The main character accidentally contributes to the awakening of the race of hostile creatures inhabiting Mars. Awaken strangers turn out to be aggressive and deadly dangerous, thanks to which they quickly conquer successive colonies, killing or closing civilians in cocoons. Darius must not only deal with the alien invasion, but also reject the accusation that the full responsibility for the outbreak of infection lies with him. Red Faction: Armageddon is a fresh approach to the subject matter of the series. The Guerrilla-like freedom of movement has been replaced by a more linear structure of the game, with an emphasis on the plot and the cinematic approach to its production. The identification element of the whole cycle returns, i.e. the possibility of destroying the terrain, which is possible thanks to equipping us with a set of powerful tools.

Red Faction: Battlegrounds players control the tuned vehicles that fight against each other in the Martian arenas. The creators prepared several standard online and local gameplay modes, i.e. Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and King of the Hill, as well as a solo campaign consisting of battles with artificial intelligence. In total we get 10 battlefields and eight unique vehicles (cars, mosses, tanks, etc.). The action was shown from above, so the whole thing is associated with arcade shooters. As far as control is concerned, production resembles such titles as Geometers Wars - the left-hand analogy is used to drive the vehicle and the right-handed one to fire. While playing, we often use the characteristic weapon, which appears in other titles from the series. We have at our disposal, among others, rocket launchers, Gauss guns, bombs or explosives. Red Faction: Battlegrounds is related to Red Faction: Armageddon, the fourth installment of the main series. This means that players struggling in battles with vehicles can transfer their achievements to the latter production. Several interesting add-ons can be unlocked for experience points and rank.
