Rock Band: Unplugged is the first portable version of Rock Band in the history of the series. It was developed by Harmonix and MTV Games. The former specializes in music games (Amplitude, Frequency, Guitar Hero, Karaoke Revolution Party, Rock Band).

In the game, we may become a rock star and play many both historic and new hits. We play the tracks by pressing the right buttons in the right moment. The game offers the extended career mode, World Tour, and the possibility of creating and leading your own band. During our music tour around the world, we visit 24 cities and many different concert sites. Apart from that, there is also a possibility of quick play, in which we choose a single song or a set of songs, and then set the site of the spontaneous gig.

Along with Rock Band: Unplugged we get access to the built-in internet store (Rock Band Music Store), in which we may purchase additional songs. There are 40 songs in the basic version of the game, while many of these were available in the previous installments of Rock Band series for other consoles.

The developers faithfully transferred the looks and the style of Rock Band games known from more powerful consoles. The production is very colorful and offers quite humorous approach to rock music. The important aspects of the game are naturally the soundtrack and the easy and intuitive controls.
