Savage: Road to Darkness is a two-dimensional platformer developed for PCs. The action takes place in the land of fantasy inhabited by humanoid animals, and we play the role of a crocodile trained in the techniques of fighting ninja clans. The game focuses on clashes using a variety of attacks, weapons and special abilities.
Savage: Road to Darkness is a 2D platformer released on PC. This is the debut production of the independent ARTcle studio.
The game takes us to the fantasy land inspired by Japanese folklore, inhabited by humanoid animals. We play as a crocodile named Wani, trained in secret ninja techniques. The campaign revolves around the hero's desire for revenge on his former friends who betrayed him.
In terms of gameplay mechanisms, Savage: Road to Darkness is a classic 2D platformer. The focus is on combat - we have access to a wide range of attacks and special skills, among which we can find supernatural ninja abilities.
The fun is diversified by frequent clashes with bosses. However, the game isn't only focused on combat. We can also explore the levels and solve a few logic puzzles.
The game was developed with experienced players in mind. The gameplay mechanics are rather complex for this genre and the difficulty level is high.
Savage: Road to Darkness refers to old platformers, but the authors didn't offer the retro-style graphics typical of this type of titles. Instead, they opted for high resolution and smooth animations, which makes the action look like an interactive cartoon.
