Shrek: Ogres and Dronkeys is the fourth game referring to the character of a friendly ogre and his friends, which it was decided to prepare for the owners of the Nintendo DS console. In the past we have already received such titles as Shrek SuperSlam (2005), Shrek Smash n' Crash Racing (March 2007) and Shrek the Third (June 2007). This time we are dealing with a product created mainly for the youngest customer, and this is due to the fact that special emphasis was placed on caring for the creatures visible on the screen. So we don't deal with free exploration of the environment, and all the more so we don't attack any opponents. Development studio WayForward Technologies is responsible for the preparation of this game. The company has also released such products as Contra 4 or Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck on the DS console. Ogres and Dronkeys was created exclusively for Nintendo handheld owners.

As has already been said, in this game we take care of various beings. Generally speaking, there are two types of creatures here. The first species is the offspring of the title Shrek and his wife Fiona. As for the second playable creature (Dronkey), it is the fruit of the Donkey and Dragon relationship. The list of available shares includes of course many interesting items. The creature we have decided to take care of must first of all teach us to follow more or less complex commands. The next step is to train a friendly being to perform selected activities on his or her own.

You should also play with the creature, or finally encourage him to explore the closest surroundings, which for obvious reasons can be designed by yourself. Control is very simple, including both clear icons and the use of the DS touchscreen console. The game is characterized by a low level of difficulty. It is also completely devoid of brutality. The game takes place, of course, on both screens of the console. The top screen is mainly used to display additional information. The game is played out on the bottom touch screen. This is, of course, a three-dimensional game environment.
