Sine Mora EX is remastered version of the 2012’s well-received shoot’em up game. Unlike its predecessor developed by Digital Reality in cooperation with Grasshopper Manufacture, the version described herein has been created by THQ Nordic. Among other platforms, the game is available on PC, SWITCH and etc..
The action of the PC, SWITCH and etc. release of Sine Mora EX is set in a retro-futuristic world. Players get to explore a colorful and exotic land engulfed in continuous war between the forces of the Empire and their adversaries. During the game, one is able to visit most of the world, since the battles take place in the mountains, under water, as well as amidst industrial structures.
Sine Mora EX for PC, SWITCH and etc. revolves around fighting hordes of enemies. A Player observes the action from the side-perspective and gets to pilot diverse airplanes, featuring various weapons and gadgets that provide the tactical advantage over the enemies. Apart from the minor enemies, who are relatively easy to defeat, a player occasionally has to face powerful bosses – to defeat the latter ones, one has to prove their reflexes and come up with successful tactics. Interestingly enough, the game features three difficulty levels, thus the beginning players can adjust the level of enemies’ aggressiveness and the number of opponents that can attack at the same time.
Sine Mora EX builds on the story campaign comprising seven stages. What is worth mentioning is that during the campaign, players can modify the specifications of particular machines to adequately prepare them for the mission at hand. Things are a bit different when it comes to the Arcade mode – here, one can select one of the fifty available combinations of weapons. Player’s actions are monitored by a scoring system and online rankings.
The PC, SWITCH and etc. release of Sine Mora EX delivers high-quality visuals. The surroundings are well polished, and the battles look very good as well. The game has been created by seasoned developers – boss models were designed by Mahiro Maeda, one of the most popular Japanese anime artists, while the soundtrack has been written by Akira Yamaoka, also known for composing the soundtracks for the games in the Silent Hill series.
