Stealth action game created by the developer Rebellion Software, known for Rainbow Six: Lone Wolf and Delta Force: Urban Warfare for PlayStation, as well as Aliens Vs. Predator for PC. The game sports fully 3D graphics generated by Asura engine (both TPP and FPP). Its story is set in the spring of 1945, the last days of the World War II (during Soviet-German battle of Berlin) and the beginning of the Cold War.

Sniper Elite offers three game modes: Single Player (campaign), Co-operation (split-screen), and local/online Multiplayer. In SP you play as Peter Mauer, an elite German sniper recruited by an American organization OSS, a predecessor of CIA. He embarks on a series of dangerous missions, facing Soviet SMERSH agents and the remnants of the German army. One of the main objectives of this battle, incidentally, the first battle between the East and the West, is preventing the Soviets from capturing secret projects of German scientists.
