Solarpunk is a survival game that takes us to the world of levitating islands. The game was developed by the independent studio Cyberwave, which has the warmly received project Hourglass in its portfolio. The development of this game was possible thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.

Gameplay

In Solarpunk we watch the action from a first-person perspective (FPP). The game gives us access to a vast open world - we move between islands on board our airship and then land to move on foot. During the game we explore islands in search of useful resources, as well as engage in animal breeding and land cultivation. While the former serve us for an extensive crafting system, working on the farm gives us access to food.

Helping to make a case for cozy survival games being a thing, a lack of mortal dangers and a few surprises along the way make this a more casual crafting good time if that’s what you seek

Solarpunk is one of those games that becomes more fun the more you play it. The first hours might be boring, monotonous, and at times maddening. Resource limitations, manual farming, and a few quality-of-life restrictions could test players' patience. A few bugs and some unfinished elements give the impression that a bit more polish would do the game good.
