Splash Cars, released on AND and iOS, is a car arcade game where the player's task is to restore color to the sad, black and white world. The game is available in a free-to-play model with microtransactions and was developed by the Czech studio Craneballs, known mainly from the Overkill series.
In Splash Cars, we observe the action from an isometric view. The campaign was divided into a series of independent missions, unrelated to any plot. Each one of them takes place on a small map, which is completely black and white. We drive a small car that restores color to places it passes through or hits. In this way, the lawn will be green again, bricks get their red color back, etc. Our task is to go around the level in such a way that its large enough area fills up again with colors.
The car affects a wide area, making it easier to complete the task. On the other hand, we are hindered by police cars trying to catch us. The police are trying to immobilize our car, push it into a deadly trap or keep damaging it until it finally stops working. If they succeed, we will be forced to restart the level.
During the game the player collects points and currency scattered around the maps. Virtual money, either earned by playing the game or acquired through microtransactions, is then used to unlock new cars and acquire parts that provide specific bonuses. An additional attraction is an option of sharing pictures of painted maps with friends.
