SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game is a 3D platformer set in the universe of the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants.
The game was developed by PHL Collective studio, whose portfolio includes titles such as Ben 10: Power Trip or DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace. Its release was handled by Outright Games, a company specialized in projects based on animated films and series.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game takes us to Bikini Bottom – the underwater world known from the animated series about SpongeBob SquarePants. As the title suggests, the main character of the game is Patrick Star, and while playing we watch him from a third-person perspective (TPP).
The game offers us an open world that we can freely explore. Visiting places like the Krusty Krab, Glove World, the Dump, or even Mrs. Puff's Rage Room, we interact with other characters, led by SpongeBob, Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Krabs, Squidward, or Plankton. Many of them have prepared challenges for us, which include performing various acrobatics or searching for collectibles.
Patrick Star can not only run or glide on an umbrella, but also grab various objects (such as a shell cleaner or a can of paint) and use them to play with physics, causing quite a bit of chaos in the process. On the way, we unlock new outfits for our character. Moreover, nothing prevents us from embodying other characters and fooling around in Bikini Bottom in their skin.
The graphic design of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game is maintained in a cartoon style.

Game Ratings for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game Video Game.
NextGen Player: 7.5 / 10 by Paul Hunter
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game shines in its vibrant visuals and whimsical vibe that's authentic to the popular animated series. Voice acting is another strong point with the original cast bringing the characters to life through witty lines that had me constantly laughing out loud. But the real star is the awesome physics-based gameplay that lets you think creatively to solve the many puzzles and challenges around Bikini Bottom.
Pure Xbox: 4 / 10 by Ben Kerry
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game feels like another excuse to cash in on the SpongeBob name. The game doesn't do anything offensive, but it's so barebones that it doesn't even really feel like a complete experience, particularly for seasoned gamers. If you absolutely have to try anything with the animated sponge's name on it, then frolicking around in Jellyfish Fields for a few hours or so could be fun - but otherwise, don't bother. It's probably worth just booting up Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated again if you're in the mood for some SpongeBob gaming in your life!
GameSpew: 6 / 10 by Kim Snaith
An open world sandbox that lets you run free around Bikini Bottom, there's plenty of fun to be had in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star Game. It's packed with minigames and activities, but it's just a shame the whole experience feels rather rough.
