Metal Gear Solid is a production that has inscribed itself in golden letters in the history of video games, laying the foundations for modern stealth titles. Over the years, the work of Kojima Productions studio has seen a number of imitators. One of them is Spy Drops, a project created by the independent Spanish team Rainy Night Creations.

Gameplay

In Spy Drops we watch the action from a bird's eye view, but at selected moments (like hiding behind covers), the camera changes perspective to third-person (TPP). During the game, we play as an agent whose task is to deal with the threat from eco-terrorists threatening to destroy all digital records on Earth and revert civilization back to the Stone Age. Over time, the events we find ourselves in take an unexpected turn.

Locations

The game throws us behind enemy lines, allowing us to visit a military base, jungle, and desert. The driving force of the game are missions set in procedurally generated locations, so we can never be sure what challenges we will have to face.

Two ways of completing missions

Opponents are our main obstacle during missions. We can eliminate enemies standing in our way, but in this way we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to extract valuable data from their heads using a special device called the Dream Catcher.
