Stormblades for AND and iOS is an action game based on the Inifinity Blade series. The production was developed by Kiloo, known from the popular Subway Surfers, and utilizes a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
Plot
The game is set in a typical fantasy realm. The story focuses on ancient ruins, whose secrets have interested countless warriors for hundreds of years. No one, however, managed to reach the final chamber, as the corridors are guarded by hundreds of powerful sentinels. You play as a hero, who decides to become the first to complete the task.
Mechanics
The exploration in Stormblades is quite limited and the gameplay focuses mostly on dueling increasingly strong opponents. The combat system is simple: you use gestures to attack, dodge or parry. An important aspect is good timing. The initial foes can be defeated quite easily, but later victories require you to learn the enemies' attack patterns, so that you can pinpoint the ideal moment to hit them yourself.
During the battle, your character is not stationary; they can move around the enemy. Between the duels they automatically run further, allowing you to restore some health and gather valuable items. You can also develop your character; each win earns you points, which you can spend on upgrading your sword or buying extra equipment.
