Strayed Lights

Mechanics

Strayed Lights makes use of the third-person perspective (TPP). During their adventure the player will visit various different locations, such as ruins long past their glory days and forests of glowing trees, home to lights and shadows. While traversing them we must complete objectives and face hostile shadow creatures. Combat is dynamic, requiring perception and patience.

The player must not only change the color of the playable character's light (blue or orange) to match the enemy's light, but also parry and dodge their attacks to absorb their energy. After collecting enough of it, we can unleash the energy in a powerful burst and then finish the enemy off if necessary. Aside from regular opponents we'll also encounter much more powerful bosses.

Our character becomes stronger throughout the game by unlocking and upgrading skills, letting us face gradually greater challenges.

Technical aspects

The visuals of Strayed Lights make use of a colorful, cartoonish, intriguing artstyle; many areas are shrouded in darkness, the only sources of light being the enemies, the playable characters and their attacks.
