Mechanics

The gameplay in Super Awesome Quest resembles other mobile RPG productions using the match-3 mechanics. In this case, however, fights take place according to different rules. Tiles are displayed at the bottom of the screen. On each of them, there is a symbol, e.g. a hammer, which is responsible for dealing damage, or a shield that strengthens the defense. To perform an action, just tap your finger on the tiles. The problem, however, is that they are facing the other side, and during the gameplay, you can only see the elements adjacent to the tile that you tapped earlier. If we are lucky and there are two identical powers next to each other, their action will be strengthened (e.g. our hero will deal more damage). This system is complemented by potions with different properties, as well as equipment gained during our adventure which affects the statistics of our characters.

Technical aspects

Super Awesome Quest offers 2D cartoon graphics. At the top of the screen, we can see the battle accompanied by a variety of special effects, so the whole thing works very well, although it is not something we wouldn't have seen before.
