An arcade racing game similar to the older entries of the Gran Turismo series and using an isometric camera. Super Woden GP 2 lets us progress through the driver's career, starting out in "regular" road cars and gradually working our way up to professional rally and racing cars in various disciplines.

Independent developer ViJuDa from Spain made a name for himself in the racing game community in 2021 when he released Super Woden GP - an arcade racing game that caught the attention of many players and evoked nostalgia with its clear references to the early installments of the Gran Turismo series (despite the fundamental difference of using a bird's-eye view). The project was successful enough that the solo creator quickly began working on a sequel.

Super Woden GP 2 directly builds on the formula of the first game – it retains the arcade driving model, high-mounted isometric camera, and the original's unique visual style, focusing on expanding the content.

The foundation of the game is again a career mode modeled on Gran Turismo and the iconic ideas from this series. The main menu, in the form of a city map, already evokes associations. We start the adventure with a modest budget, with which we buy a not-so-fast, "common" car.

By participating in subsequent races, we upgrade our machine and/or purchase increasingly faster models. We can also sell owned cars and unlock secret vehicles in special events. Gradually, we aim to compete in professional racing and rally cars.

Super Woden GP 2 features over 180 cars – they are not licensed, but we can recognize the real models they were based on (despite the low detail of the car shapes). The competitions take place both on closed racing tracks and on rally routes with variable surfaces, conducted from point A to point B.

Split-screen

In addition to singleplayer races against AI cars, Super Woden GP 2 offers a local split-screen multiplayer mode for up to 4 people. Time trials with online leaderboards are also in the game.
