Independent developer ViJuDa from Spain became known to the racing game community in 2021, when it released Super Woden GP - an arcade "car game" that caught the attention of many players and aroused their nostalgia with overt references to the first installments of the Gran Turismo series (despite the fundamental difference, which was the use of a bird's-eye view). The project was so successful that the lone developer quickly set to work on a sequel.

Gameplay

Super Woden GP 2 simply expands on the formula of the first part - it retains the arcade driving model, the high-slung isometric camera and the unusual visual style of the original, while focusing on expanding the content.

The foundation of the game zn?w is the career mode mode modeled on Gran Turismo and the cult ideas of the series. Associations are already evoked by the main menu in the form of a city map. We begin the adventure with a modest budget, for which we buy a not very fast, "common" car.

As you compete in subsequent races, you upgrade your machine and/or buy faster and faster copies. You can also sell the cars you own and unlock secret vehicles in special events. Gradually, you strive to compete in professional racing and rally cars.

Super Woden GP 2 contains more than 180 cars - they are not licensed, but it is possible to recognize the real models on which they were modeled (despite the low level of detail of the cars' bodies). The races take place both on closed race tracks and on rally tracks with variable surfaces, leading from point A to point B.

Split-screen

In addition to singleplayer races against artificial intelligence, Super Woden GP 2 offers local split-screen multiplayer mode for up to 4 players. Time trials with network rankings are also provided.
