A remastered version of the popular action jRPG from Bandai Namco. Tales of Xillia Remastered has greatly improved graphics, but there are also other novelties, including an autosave system, an option to disable random encounters, and a chance to obtain new costumes and items for the party members.
Tales of is a jRPG series that began in 1995 and has developed several sub-series over the years. One of these is Tales of Xillia and its first installment was released in September 2011. After more than 14 years, it received a remastered version titled Tales of Xillia Remastered, developed by DokiDoki Grooveworks.
Compared to the original, Tales of Xillia Remastered stands out primarily due to its enhanced graphics. Additionally, the developers have implemented a range of new features, including automatic game saving, the ability to disable random encounters with enemies, and earlier access to the in-game shop. Furthermore, the remaster includes additional costumes and useful equipment for the characters.
In Tales of Xillia Remastered, events are viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). Playing as one of the two main characters, we explore the game world, meet its inhabitants, and learn about their problems, as well as complete quests that impact the future of the entire realm. Along the way, we also gather a team.
A cohesive team is important because we often find ourselves fighting enemies. Dynamic skirmishes take place in real-time and are based on the Dual Raid Linear Motion system. Besides dexterity and reflexes, we must also demonstrate tactical sense on the battlefield. By selecting allies in such a way that they complement our characters, we ensure the ability to execute attack combinations and access special passive skills.
Tales of Xillia Remastered transports us to the world of Rieze Maxia, which lies on the border between science fiction and fantasy and is divided between the kingdoms of Rashugal and Auj Oule. The game allows us to choose whether to play as medical student Jude Mathis or the magically gifted Milla Maxwell, who considers herself the incarnation of the god-creator, Maxwell. The protagonists' goal is to restore balance to the land, which is on the brink of chaos.
The graphics of Tales of Xillia Remastered are maintained in a manga style.

Game Ratings for Tales of Xillia Remastered Video Game.
Push Square: 7 / 10 by Robert Ramsey
So, while there are elements of Tales of Xillia that don't quite measure up to today's standards, the core adventure remains rock solid, and the remaster brings some welcome additions and extras to the table. This PS3 RPG deserved a good re-release, and it's got one.
RPGamer: 3.5 / 5 by Ezra Kinnell
Tales of Xillia Remastered is another successful feather in the cap of the series’ 30th anniversary Remastered Project. While the game itself has some wrinkles in the story department, and visually the game shows its age, it is still filled with fun combat, wonderful characters, and one of the best antagonists in the whole series.
TheSixthAxis: 8 / 10 by Miguel Moran
Tales of Xillia Remastered is a wonderful showcase for why the Tales franchise has thrived for the past three decades. It's packed full of charm, strung together with incredible battles, and has me so excited for whichever entry in the series gets remastered next.
