Teardown is a game in which we play as the thief - our job is to plan and then make break ins to steal valuable items. The game is characterized by a high level of interaction with the environment and destruction of the map.
Teardown is an arcade puzzle game in which we play the role of a thief making all kinds of dangerous heists. A characteristic feature of this game is a huge level of destruction of the environment, achieved through the use of graphics based on voxels (a solution known, among others, from Minecraft). Game was developed and released by Tuxedo Labs.
The protagonist of Teardown works for a company whose debts grow day by day. Problems with timely payments and the need for an additional source of income force him to cooperate with more and more suspicious people and perform more or less illegal orders. With time, the protagonist becomes a skilled thief who is not afraid to steal cars and blow up safes, as well as demolish entire buildings.
In Teardown we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). The main element of the game is to perform heists, each of which requires the development of a plan to enter a building or a complex, and then to reach the valuable goods. Of course we also have to take care of the escape route - the moment we pick up the object that is the target of the break in, the alarm sounds, forcing us to quickly flee the scene of the crime
One of the basic mechanics used by the player is the ability to influence the shape of the environment - we can interact with a variety of objects (e.g. arrange the boxes in such a way as to allow yourself to get to the place above), and destroy almost everything on the map (we use various tools for this purpose - from a hammer, through vehicles to explosives).
Teardown features attractive graphics based on voxels. It is designed in a relatively realistic style and enriched with eye-catching lighting (the game uses ray tracing). Also noteworthy is the physics engine, which provides realistic behavior of liquids, fire, smoke and collapsing walls. The soundtrack is also very pleasing - the game developed by Tuxedo Labs uses Path Tracing technology to create a realistic sound simulation.
In Teardown we can play only solo. Apart from the story campaign, there is a sandbox mode (where we can play in different environments without having to watch the imposed goals) and a creative mode (allowing us to create our own maps).
While early access version of Teardown did not support mods, the developer announced the implementation of this feature in the future. The plans include a map editor and integration with the Steam Workshop.

Why reinvent the wheel when you can jsut make it rounder? Teardown isn't revolutionary by any means, but it is extremely fun to play thanks to one element. Nowhere else is destruction so much fun!
