A real time strategy with MMO elements, offered in a free-to-play model with microtransactions. In Tentlan we end up in pre-Columbian America and play as the chief of a Mayan tribe. Our main goal is to transform our small settlement into a true empire.
Pre-Columbian America does not appear very often in video games. One of the productions that allow us to visit this time period is Tentlan. It is a real-time strategy game with MMO elements, created by Lionmoon company. The game is distributed in a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
In Tentlan we watch the action in an isometric view.
We take on the role of the so-called Ahau in the game - a powerful ruler, whose task is to build a Mayan settlement from scratch and transform it into a powerful empire. For this purpose, we gather resources such as stone (used for construction), obsidian, corn (which is a source of food) and cocoa, we place structures, conduct research on new technologies, raise large armies, and also perform rituals.
Those last ones ensure us the favor of the gods, like allowing to manipulate the seasons. Discoveries (from fields such as astronomy, medicine or mathematics) provide us with various bonuses and also give us access to new buildings.
Having a numerous and diverse army allows for the defense of our territories against hostiles. We can also conquer new areas and take them away from other players and barbarians. The icing on the cake is the ability to spy on enemies.
Additionally, a diplomacy system has been implemented in the game. After building the Tribe Council Hall, we can create tribes and form alliances with other players.
In Tentlan it possible to play alone or in multiplayer mode over the Internet.
